Is Project Lifesaver Right for Your Family?Project Lifesaver is a proactive program developed to help quickly find members of the community who have a cognitive disorder and a propensity to wander. Those enrolled in the program will be issued a small radio transmitter to wear on their wrist or ankle 24/7. Each transmitter has a frequency that is unique to the client, allowing our first responder teams to track them should they wander away from their caregiver.
Project Lifesaver is available to any client who meets the following requirements: Has a cognitive disorder (dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, TBI, down syndrome, or other related condition or disorder) Has a habit of wandering Has a caregiver 24/7 (i.e. they are always with at least one person who can call 911 if they wander off) |
How Much Does it Cost? All equipment used is owned and maintained by Project Lifesaver Hendricks County. While transmitters usually cost $350, we are able to offer this service at NO COST to the caregivers thanks to generous donations, grants, and fundraiser programs.
Thank you to all of our community partners for their continued support. |
